Simply put, this means the cooling of the oil as well as subsequent filtration of the precipitated fraction. This is the principle of winterisation. In the past the oil was stored during the winter season for this clearing process, until the clear oil had settled. <\/p>\n<p>At Reinartz we have developed a winterisation process specifically for cold-pressed cooking oils which can be used to crystallise and filter waxes in a controlled manner. The oil is made cold-resistant and the flocculation of waxes will be ceased.
