Plant Proteins

On the one hand, precious food oil is obtained by gentle cold pressing. By the Reinartz process, all the aromas, essential ingredients and fat-soluble vitamins are retained in their original form during the mechanical processing.

This makes natural oils especially valuable. On the other hand, we produce so-called “press cakes” with our processes. The dry residual substance of the Reinartz pressing process contains high quality proteins, which can be used as nutritious feed in livestock breeding. Without chemical additives, first class in quality.

What are proteins?

The human body needs proteins. In the course of the body’s own utilisation process proteins are split into their individual amino acids. In the next step, the body now builds up its own proteins of these amino acids – as needed.

The proteins are indispensable for a variety of tasks. Among other things, they are needed for cell regeneration and tissue formation, and they are also crucial for muscle growth. Low-protein malnutrition can have risky consequences for both humans and animals.

Plant proteins from rapeseed

As co-product of the cold pressing of rapeseed, press cake, a high-quality protein feed for fattening animals, accrues. Due to the low temperatures of our processes, the valuable proteins as well as a lot of other nutrients are preserved. With our presses you will achieve a high and first-class quality oil yield of exquisite edible oil.

In the future rapeseed protein could also be used in human nutrition. But it is covered by the EU’s “novel food” regulation and has not yet been authorised in the food sector. A possibility we continue to pursue …

Refined by winterisation

To avoid this flocking, winterisation of the cooking oil is advisable. Simply put, this means the cooling of the oil as well as subsequent filtration of the precipitated fraction. This is the principle of winterisation. In the past the oil was stored during the winter season for this clearing process, until the clear oil had settled.

At Reinartz we have developed a winterisation process specifically for cold-pressed cooking oils which can be used to crystallise and filter waxes in a controlled manner. The oil is made cold-resistant and the flocculation of waxes will be ceased. The cooking oil is then crystal clear.

Energy from biomass

Take the raw material grass, for example. Excellent pellets and briquettes for energy production can also be produced from non-wood-like biomass after the moist biomass is dewatered in a mechanical pressing process. Dewatering performance of our presses significantly exceeds the performance of market-standard presses and separators. Having been dried this way, biomass can be compressed to pellets or briquettes and used as an efficient fuel.

The good thing about our process: It is not only energy efficient, but also requires little space and can be easily implemented into existing processes.
