Plant proteins from rapeseed

As co-product of the cold pressing of rapeseed, press cake, a high-quality protein feed for fattening animals, accrues. Due to the low temperatures of our processes, the valuable proteins as well as a lot of other nutrients are preserved. With our presses you will achieve a high and first-class quality oil yield of exquisite edible oil.

In the future rapeseed protein could also be used in human nutrition. But it is covered by the EU’s “novel food” regulation and has not yet been authorised in the food sector. A possibility we continue to pursue …

Refined by winterisation

To avoid this flocking, winterisation of the cooking oil is advisable. Simply put, this means the cooling of the oil as well as subsequent filtration of the precipitated fraction. This is the principle of winterisation. In the past the oil was stored during the winter season for this clearing process, until the clear oil had settled.

At Reinartz we have developed a winterisation process specifically for cold-pressed cooking oils which can be used to crystallise and filter waxes in a controlled manner. The oil is made cold-resistant and the flocculation of waxes will be ceased. The cooking oil is then crystal clear.

Energy from biomass

Take the raw material grass, for example. Excellent pellets and briquettes for energy production can also be produced from non-wood-like biomass after the moist biomass is dewatered in a mechanical pressing process. Dewatering performance of our presses significantly exceeds the performance of market-standard presses and separators. Having been dried this way, biomass can be compressed to pellets or briquettes and used as an efficient fuel.

The good thing about our process: It is not only energy efficient, but also requires little space and can be easily implemented into existing processes.

Reinartz is a member of IPIFF

Reinartz works continuously on innovative solutions for the maximum use of valuable resources. For example insects, from which we gain high-quality protein by means of our process and our presses. We are pleased to be member of the International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF) since the beginning of 2019. This is one further important step which we have made to participate in actively shaping and further developing the insects sector.

Insects for a stronger immune system of broilers

In a current study the effect of insect meal from the Black Soldier Fly as feed additive for broilers was examined. The focus was on the effect of the meal on a fowl-typhoid causing bacterium.

The current results confirm the findings of earlier studies on this subject, which indicate that insect meal in the feed has a positive effect on health. Conclusion: the addition of small quantities of the meal could strengthen the immune system of broilers as well as significantly increase the survival rate of sick fowl. The crucial components of the insects which trigger this effect still need to be examined.

Technology meets developer spirit

We get reinforcements from well-known cooperation partners from economic and scientific areas, such as the Fraunhofer Institute for Process Technology and Packaging in relation to the extraction and processing of herbal raw materials. Renowned universities such as RWTH Aachen and the Münster University of Applied Sciences are researching on topics such as biomass, a specialty of Reinartz, using Reinartz presses.

Other project partners in the development of sustainable solutions for protein extraction for animal feed are among others, the research institute Feed Technology of the International Research Community Feed Technology and the Hermetia Baruth GmbH. Together, we work out solutions for the world of tomorrow.

Networked with our Service 4.0

This enables the fully automatic control of the entire system, which avoids potential operating errors and provides the necessary transparency of the production processes. Analyses can be carried out in real time and all processes along the product lifecycle are documented by so-called logging.

In case of questions or incidents of malfunction, our experienced engineers can log into the customer’s system remotely and correct possible faults. Maintenance can also be carried out flexibly by remote control. Service at the touch of a button – this is our Service 4.0!
